In a White Linen Doublet and Red Velvet Giornea

See this page for information about the giornea, and this one about the doublet.

1. First we put on the fluffy white undershirt and leggings (all pieces made with Period Patterns #43):

2. Then we lace up the front of the doublet using Renaissance bow tying technique. Be sure to have just a bit of undershirt showing above the collar of the doublet.

3. There are a variety of ways to lace up the sleeves. This is just one way. Another might be to lace up the opposite direction and tuck the laces in under the sleeve so they don't hang down and annoy you.

4. Then we run the leggings' cords through rings sewn into the waistband of the doublet.

5. The doublet bottom laced in thoroughly.

6. The doublet bottom when fully tied in to the hose.

7. Now we put on the giornea and arrange it around the body.

8. Belt the giornea, buckle in back or front as you like.

9. And here is the back of it. Note that the front wraps back a ways. Also note how the belt is arranged. Sometimes belts are worn buckle in front, but buckle in back appears to have been popular. It's okay to let the end of the belt just dangle down.
