January 22, 2003: Happy New Year! Pages added: Chalice Veil writeup, a cute new kitten picture somewhere in the Fender & Stanzi pages, new page for Jewelry Projects, and a second page for Re-Enactment of Renaissance Jewelry. Whew!
December 19, 2002: Edited the cloak pages some, and added some men's secular cloaks I've had uploaded for a few weeks. Removed some Virgin cloaks from the women's page and renamed it to reflect that it is purely allegorical. I'll be gone for the next couple weeks, by the way.
October 27, 2002: Much new stuff. New page: Fender & Stanzi 2, available off of the main Fender & Stanzi page. Also added and updated several pics to Kitty Photo Album p. 2, available off main Shoda & Marty page. And added new picture of a 15th-century belt to the Beaded Belt page, available off the main Florentine Garb page. Enjoy!
October 14, 2002: I want to pass out. Added lots of cloak pictures. You can find them on this front page, and over at the main Florentine garb page.
October 12, 2002: Finished reworking photos.. most of them are now under 20k, which is how the Gods intended it, I think.
October 10, 2002: Added new pic of Marty to "More Marty Pictures" and one of the purple tunic to "SCA Costuming". Fixed oodles of photos so they'd be smaller. Jeez, that 15MB creeps up on ya fast...
October 7, 2002: Added some links to Humor and Merchants page.
October 5, 2002: Added new page, "Fender & Stanzi", and pictures of the kittens.
September 30, 2002: Added SCA Webring info to front page.
September 5, 2002: Added two more garb pictures to Men's Garb (near the bottom of page 1) and one belt detail to Women's Garb (near the middle of page 1). These are all from "Triumph of May", which rocks.
August 14, 2002: As I've finished retyping the glossary of Herald's book, I've added links to it, sprinkling them around. Also updated the Men's FAQ and added the bibliography from the Herald book on a new page.
July 15, 2002: The originator of the original "2am" list contacted me, and her byline is now on the "Things I've Learned Sewing at 2am" page in the Humor section. Thanks for contacting me, Kristina! And in other news, still plugging away at the glossary, but I managed to screw up my arm, so I'm not typing much extra-curricularly that I can avoid.
June 2002: Still typing away at the glossary reproduction from the Herald book. If you're interested, it's at glossary.html, but it's not linked yet as I'm only up to the G's now
May 8th, 2002: New portraits in Re-Enactment with Jewelry.
May 7th, 2002: Added new page for info about Lorenzo de Medici and updated links a bit.
May 1st, 2002: Updated the jewelry pages a bit (no new pictures, just expanded writeups on some), added new section to Humor for Misc. essays and added new pages regarding advice to beginners and keeping cats from peeing all over your garb.
April 24th, 2002: Updated jewelry pages, uploaded some new pictures -- some of these were *really* hard to find, too.
April 23rd, 2002: Added new pages, "History of Jewelry in the Renaissance" and "Re-enactment and Renaissance Jewelry". Uploaded some new pictures.
April 19th, 2002: Added new picture and writeup of garnet necklace in "A Florentine Necklace", and new picture of Marty on the bathroom counter on home page.
April 1st, 2002: Erased everything. Uh, just kidding. Actually, I finished putting up the Gulf Wars pictures, and made a new page for the new necklace I made.
March 18-26, 2002: Added new page "Gulf Wars XI" and some pictures, but not all of them. Changed Merchants page to a "Humor and Merchants" page and fleshed it out. I'm sure there was more, but I'm suddenly having a senior moment.
February 26, 2002: New page: "Big Green Cioppa", linked off the Florentine Garb site and the "SCA Costuming" pages. Moved most of the cioppa pictures there. Finished writing commentary on portraits. Began new page observations1.html, with basic information about the general look and how to achieve it.
February 17, 2002: New page about beaded belts, linked off the Florentine Garb page. I love my new digital camera! Woo woo! Also added new pages: Kitty Photo Album, Page 2, accessible through various cat pages, and "How to Make Renaissance Bows" and "A White Linen Doublet and A Red Velvet Giornea", off the Florentine Garb page. Lots of new pictures and some minor revisions of older pages.
February 14, 2002: Split the Men's Clothing page into 2 pages and began adding commentary. Also resized more photos -- most are now under 35k. Hopefully that'll make stuff load easier.
February 8, 2002: Added more photos to Women's Garb and some more text. I think I've got most of the photos I want to upload uploaded there.
January 31, 2002: Wow. Did a lot of photo organizing and editing so they load faster and don't tax my poor little iVillage account so hard. Moved men's Florentine garb to a new custom page (with a yucky light blue bg to remind me to find something cooler sometime) so I can do it up in a table like the women's garb. Still have to finish uploading the other stuff. Hopefully the pages are more efficient and easier to load now. If anybody's curious, EyeBrowse, available through TuCows, is a FABULOUS image editor. Quirky, but free, and it works. Also, began a new page, "Merchant Links".
January 11, 2002: Added numerous useful links to "Florentine Garb of the Late 15th Century", changed name of "More Doublet Photos" to "Beige Satin Doublet" and added a few text bits, and discovered the joys of horizontal rules and sprinkled the site liberally with them. Oh, and added an Art History resource section to "Florentine Garb".
January 4-10, 2002: More re-orgs. Moved Women's Florentine Garb to its own page and slowly I am writing commentary for the portraits. Men's Garb is next after I finalize the template page. More Florentine and Italian links will join as I winnow through my links pages. I'm hoping to get this dealt with before the next slew of pictures get made!
December 18, 2001: Major re-org done. Lots of pages got de-listed from the navigation bar -- they're still here, just linked a little more nicely. All cat pages are now lumped in under "Shoda & Marty". Most of the SCA photos ended up under "SCA Costuming", which seemed kind of logical to me. Ah.. elbow room..
November 16, 2001: Added a few paintings to the Historical Paintings of Garb page. But since this webbuilder doesn't recognize .BMPs, can't upload what I want. Secretly running off to write my own stupid HTML for the site.
October 6, 2001: Added photos to Red Hat page. Added Doublet page. Added photos to Garb Photos, including a cotehardie and a middle-class Italian Renn I just did for myself. Added photos to Catfight page and expanded it. Added photos of Newcomer's Collegium to the "Events" page. Mission Creep resisted through changing photo on home page.
September 25, 2001: Added page about Italian red hats. In the face of overwhelming Mission Creep, deleted movie page - couldn't make it work like I wanted to, so why bother. May add page about SCA-period movies. Oooh, there is a thought..
July 16, 2001: Added pages: "Shoda", "Marty", "Catfight", "Events", and updated "SCA Costuming" and "Garb Photos".
July 12, 2001: Added a movie page for kicks. Hey, everybody ELSE does it.
July 12, 2001: Added a page for period sources of costume. There ain't much there now, but I'll add more later. I've sure got enough bookmarks of this stuff.
June 7, 2001: Put in an Elizabeth I page just because I really like Elizabeth I. Maybe someone will find it useful.
May 22, 2001: Oops. My cioppa is dated about a hundred years too late. Edited that a bit. I'm considering putting up a bunch of period paintings of cioppas and giorneas now.
May 18, 2001: Put in new photo album page for kitties and expanded SCA page.
May 16, 2001: Made initial page. Boy
does it ever look sparse. I'll bring in my photo-CDs
